Case studies

The Smartbell calf tag

Smartbell’s unique calf tags are purpose built to go on at birth and gather activity, behaviour and temperature data of the animals. They are lightweight and easy to put with standard ID taggers.
They are also reusable – move it to a different animal and re-map the tag to a new animal on the app.
Replaceable batteries mean you can continue to use them- just swap the battery and move onto the next calf.

The receiver station

Each ear tag sends the calf data to the receiver station, where the data is consolidated and transmitted to the central intelligence platform. It is robust, waterproof and built to mount on different types of barn walls. It’s already connected to the internet so all you need to do is mount it on the wall and plug it in.

Our cloud intelligence

WellCalf was designed specifically for youngstock and calf rearing for beef and dairy operations. The system collects data from your animals, other farm data such as health treatments, as well as external information such as weather.The data is consolidated and analyzed using machine-learning algorithms. Anomalies are detected from this analysis and presented as actionable regular alerts for the different team members to use.

The mobile app gathers input by means of your in-app responses to alerts and recorded data. It can be fully customized for your farm operations.
